Brian serves as President of Norwest Engineering, bringing more than 25 years of consulting engineering experience to the role. He previously served as VP of Engineering at Norwest from 2016-2025, having been internally promoted for his leadership and management capabilities. His career reflects a balance of deep technical expertise, long-standing leadership, and a genuine appreciation for the people and projects that make engineering meaningful.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Oregon. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and has spent more than two decades leading and managing complex engineering projects.
Throughout his career, Brian has developed specialized expertise in pump systems, terminals, and tank farm design. He has a strong understanding of how these facilities operate, how they should be designed, and the code requirements that govern them. This technical foundation allows him to stay closely connected to the work, even while serving in a leadership role.
Brian has been involved in project management for over 20 years (experience that predates his time at Norwest), and he values collaboration and clear communication across teams. “I like working with people,” he said. “We have a great team at Norwest that is a pleasure to work with and get to know. I also like working with and getting to know our clients. We have an interesting and professional client base.” His leadership style reflects Norwest’s hands-on culture, where leaders remain actively engaged in technical work while supporting the success of their teams and clients.

Outside the office, Brian enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He likes to hike, run, and unwind over a game of chess, interests that mirror both his analytical mindset and his appreciation for balance. He’s also the proud father of “two amazing daughters,” ages 19 and 21.
As President, Brian continues to focus on strengthening Norwest’s technical excellence, fostering collaboration, and supporting the people behind the projects. His leadership approach reflects his personal mantra, “Always Moving Forward,” underscoring a focus on continuous progress as Norwest looks to the future.
